About Our School Counseling Programs

Alliant offers several programs in School Counseling through the California School of Education (CSOE).

The master's program in school counseling prepares you as a counseling professional for critical and life-changing roles working with students and families in K-12 school settings, with the master's online hybrid program providing greater flexibility if you’re working full time.

The EdS program provides an advanced education that surpasses that of a master’s, prepares you for your National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) certification, and provides coursework toward licensure, such as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).

Alliant also offers a school counseling PPS credential-only program for qualified, master's level professionals who wish to work in schools as a school counselor. This credential-only program is ideal for LMFT and LPCC professionals seeking a career in K-12 schools.

Why Alliant?

CTC-Approved
Curriculum

Our programs are approved by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC), one of the highest standards in the industry. Programs follow an eight-week calendar, and you can enroll during any enrollment period. Learn more with our eight-week term academic calendar.

PPS-Only
Option

You can earn your PPS credential online if you already have a master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or education; the PPS Credential in School Counseling is a stand-alone option that allows transfer credit and practicum hours so you continue to grow, rather than repeat.

Mentorship and
Fieldwork

Enjoy small class sizes with focused attention from professors and instructors who understand the challenges children face in today’s schools, and have the opportunity to apply what you learn in the classroom to real-world experiences in a school setting.
