About Our
TESOL Programs

Prepare for a career teaching English to students of all levels. Our Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Masters and Doctoral degree programs help you develop the skills you need to teach in the U.S. or around the world.

These programs prepare you to teach English to foreign language speakers:

• Adult education
• Community colleges, colleges, and universities
• ESL/EFL teacher training programs
• Executive and corporate training
• Private primary and secondary schools

Our curriculum offers you a sound theoretical knowledge base in linguistics, second language acquisition, and advanced English grammar, along with practical strategies for teaching English language speaking, reading, and writing skills. Credit earned during your certificate program can also be applied to our Master of Arts in Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program.

This program is offered in convenient formats that accommodate all schedules and locations: choose from an on-campus program in San Diego or a fully-online option. In as little as nine months, you can complete this five-course program and be prepared to make an impact as an English language teacher for non-native speaking populations.
