About Our Marriage & Family Therapy Programs
The California School of Professional Psychology, a pioneer in this discipline, offers three accredited Marriage and Family Therapy graduate programs to prepare students for careers as professional marriage and family therapists:
CSPP’s MFT programs are designed to be inclusive of all kinds of families and couples, including those from diverse cultural backgrounds and those in the LGBTQ community. Offered online and on campus.
Why CSPP?
Tailored
Schedule
Earn your MFT degree on a schedule that works for you. We offer day, evening, and executive-format classes at each campus. In fact, our Master’s in MFT is offered completely online (one of only 3 such programs in the nation to be accredited)
Accredited Program
Of more than 80 license-eligible MFT programs in California, our programs are some of the few to hold elite accreditation for our degree programs. This can help open the door to license portability, loan reimbursement, and employment opportunities through the VA and federal government.
Hands-On
Experience
Each of our students have a variety of opportunities to get professional practice through hands-on training and mentorship with the California School of Professional Psychology’s many partnerships.
Chemical Dependency
Specialization
MFT students can earn a specialization in Chemical Dependency. This CAADE accredited chemical dependency specialization is a unique opportunity for students to prepare to work with individuals, couples, and families facing addiction.
Our Programs
Master of Arts in Marriage & Family Therapy (MA)
The nuclear family has evolved. No longer does the American household fit one shape, size, or style. Yet, the family unit remains the cornerstone of our society, and the accredited Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) Degree Program offered by the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) at Alliant International University is designed to prepare you to help individuals and families, regardless of their structure or circumstance.
Doctor of Psychology in
Marriage & Family Therapy (PsyD)
Our PsyD in Marriage and Family Therapy Post-Baccalaureate and Post Master's Degree Programs are designed to enable you to holistically treat your clients. This field of psychology places focus on every aspect that makes up who we are as individuals and as members of our various communities. Through our model of scholarship paired with hands-on practice, you will be armed with the skills you need to make an impact with individuals, families, and the societal constructs which bind us all together.
“I chose Alliant because they are accredited and degree portability was really important to me. My experience through the masters and doctoral MFT programs has not only prepared me to be a therapist, but also an advocate for my clients, and for the MFT profession as a whole.”
- Dr. Nicole Sabatini Gutierrez
“I deliberately chose CSPP because it is a professional school, I knew I wanted to be a practitioner, and I went to Alliant for that unique model. The school provided a good balance for making you a good consumer of data and science, yet also preparing you to work as a professional.”
- Mark Blankenship, CSPP Alumnus
“I realized that it was the perfect place to challenge my skills and experience working with different populations - I knew that no matter where I went after - I would have experience working with several diverse populations.”
- Trisha K.
